Cohort Programs For TGS Alumni
Work through your to-do’s and challenges with Greater Sum peers! Space limitations vary by program. We invite you to peruse the opportunities and apply for those that address the problems you’re most invested in solving this year.
In Presentation Pitfalls, executive communication experts John Polk and Justin Hunsaker reveal the ten traps that cause presentations to fail―and, more importantly, the techniques to avoid them. Justin Hunsaker is TGS’ board chair and he’s hosting a 3-session book club for us this summer!
Read along and discuss your current and upcoming presentations. You'll learn how to craft a compelling narrative, design slides that engage rather than distract, and deliver your message with confidence.
We have 10 free copies of the book to distribute - if more than 10 people sign up we’ll do a drawing. (We have space for more folks to participate than we do books, so if you’d like to purchase a copy of the book it’s available at online retailers.

Who Should Apply?
““The Social Media Incubator is an invaluable opportunity to refine how you
approach social media and deepen your understanding of its role in
advancing your organization’s work.””
This program helps you build and execute a focused social media strategy. You'll get the most out of it if you come in with clear SMART goals, a team member ready to apply what they learn, and are committed to being an active participant in both the group and individual sessions.
Demystifying impact measurement
“I got excited when I realized that there’s a creativity aspect to data... you can really show something that people wouldn’t otherwise see.””
What’s new: a simple and practical approach to program evaluation
How it works: streamlined curriculum, light reading load with optional deep dives, a focus on the basics of what data you need to track and how to use that data
Best for: organizations that need a solid, simple evaluation plan
Note: this is an introductory/intermediate track. If you are planning for more sophisticated data analysis, this course won’t meet that need.
Fall program, application deadline and meeting schedule TBD

Low lift leadership training on the strategy of securing grant funding
Timeline: March 20th through June 8th
How it works: Greater Sum covers the cost for you to submit a proposal to Unfunded List. It takes a few months for them to collect feedback - during that time we’ll meet regularly to discuss prospecting, writing, budgeting, and relationship building.
Best for: leaders who want to refine their decision-making and strategy about what to apply for and how to frame proposals
Note: this is NOT a “Grant Writing 101” workshop. It focuses on strategy.
