The Greater Sum brings the adventurous spirit of angel investing to the nonprofit sector, seeking to fund and support ideas that have the potential to significantly increase organizational impact in the foundation’s four focus areas of Education, Environment, Health, and Community Building.  Our model connects volunteer subject matter experts (SMEs) with nonprofit leaders to focus on the specific issues that are blocking the nonprofit’s growth.  We are currently recruiting SMEs to work with our 2018 cohort of nonprofits.

SME’s should have a track record of leadership, teamwork, and transforming concepts into reality. As a SME, you bring a wealth of expertise and experience in your field to your volunteer service.  The time commitment for Greater Sum SMEs varies based on your availability.  SMEs can sign on to work directly with a member of our 2018 nonprofit cohort in a short-term or long-term capacity.  SMEs may also provide training or resources that are relevant to all Greater Sum grant recipients via webinar or blog posts on the Greater Sum website.

If you’re a busy professional looking for a convenient yet impactful way to volunteer, The Greater Sum can connect you with a nonprofit whose mission has the potential to make the world a better place.  Our nonprofits are selected based on the innovative nature of their work and their openness to feedback and support from mentors and SMEs.  If you have expertise in information technology, business management, human resources, marketing, grant-writing, or fundraising, we would love to talk further about how you can contribute to our cohort of nonprofits.
