The Hendricks Foundation is on a mission to bridge the digital divide worldwide. The Hendricks foundation began this work after its founder realized that two thirds of school aged children are impacted by the digital divide. A solution was found when he learned that over 6 million tons of e-waste is thrown out each year. With one seed they flowered 3 solutions. Teaching students future ready STEAM skills, providing students who lack computers with devices they can keep, and collecting and refurbishing e-waste.
Since 2022 they have helped over 200 students and collected over 1000 devices. The students they have helped have shared how the computers they’ve received have changed their life saying, “I can now do homework at home”. With the connection bridged, students now have the ability learn as with the same resources as their peers and the opportunity to participate in the future tech workforce.
With your contributions they can help prepare more students for the future by empowering them with devices that they repaired themselves, enriching their portfolio of sought-after tech skills. Let’s bridge the digital divide one student, one device, one course at time.
