Thank you, Greater Sum - you helped put us on the map.
We needed one win and you gave it to us. The rest is history!

Calling early-stage non-profits!

Greater Sum is offering a hybrid incubator experience this summer in Jacksonville, FL. The free program is six weeks long (August 8th through September 12th), requires attendance at a weekly peer chat session (Tuesday mornings in Riverside), and graduates will be eligible to participate in our 2024 pitch competition. The application deadline is July 20th.

The program consists of:

  • Self-paced curriculum focused on financial sustainability & pitching your nonprofit

  • Weekly peer discussion to reinforce what you’re learning and expand your knowledge of local resources

  • 1-on-1 coaching calls with Greater Sum volunteers

  • Pitch training, coaching, and feedback

We are so grateful for the helpful resources that The Greater Sum provides.
The incubator has been an essential component of our growth and development.
— Lindsey Zehel, founder, Defend Them All

Are you ready? The program is designed for leaders of early-stage nonprofits doing innovative and scalable work:

  • Early stage = a nonprofit that is less than five years old, has their 501(c)(3), has submitted paperwork for the 501(c)(3), or operates under fiscal sponsorship. If your nonprofit is more than five years old but has made a major pivot (change in service model) in the last few years, you are welcome to apply.

  • Innovative = a nonprofit that’s doing things differently or doing things that have never been done before.

  • Scalable = service delivery model that becomes more cost-effective as you expand your service area. Nonprofits accomplish this in a variety of ways including branching, franchising, strategic partnerships, and distributing best practices.

2022 Grant Recipients - all graduates of the incubator program!

The application is intended to be simple and straightforward. We ask three main questions:

  1. What issue(s) was your organization founded to address, and what is innovative about how you address it? Please also explain how you measure the impact of your work. (1000 characters)

  2. Please tell us about your distribution and reach. How do you ensure the product(s) and/or service(s) you provide reach the people your organization was created to serve? (1000 characters)

  3. Do you have plans to increase your reach distributing goods and/or services? If so, please describe the how and why behind that decision and walk us through the costs associated with that expansion; if not, please write "N/A" in this space. (1000 characters)
