Respond Crisis Translation is the only full-service rapid-response language access collective in the U.S. In just 2.5 years, our team of 2,126 translators and interpreters has provided the equivalent of over $2.9 million USD of free translation and interpretation services in 108 languages to asylum seekers, refugees, and thousands of other individuals experiencing crisis in the United States and around the world.

We're also creating jobs! Our paid language team leads are directly impacted native speaker community members, and 380 translators and interpreters are currently earning a full living through their work with Respond. Most of these folks are themselves based in refugee camps, living amongst political upheaval in Afghanistan and Haiti, and in active war zones in Ukraine.

By contributing to Respond, you help us make sure that our services stay free for thousands of people living in contexts of crisis and resettlement, and that we pay hundreds of systems-impacted translators and interpreters just and dignified wages. Thank you for joining us in fighting for language and economic justice for asylum seekers, refugees, and thousands of others who experience language as a barrier to access to resources and services!

The Greater Sum provides strategic training and mentoring for early stage nonprofit innovators. We invest in organizations who are providing new solutions to old problems, and are ready to expand the scale of their impact. We share their stories so that other philanthropists like you have the opportunity to do the same. If you represent a grant-making organization and would like to be connected with these organizations, contact us directly and we’ll make an introduction! The Greater Sum supports organizations that are scaling their impact, either by expanding their service area or by teaching other organizations to replicate their innovation. Why are we excited about Respond: Crisis Translation? When they applied for funding they created a Pitch Deck that describes the problem the organization was founded to address, the solution they have created, and resulting outcomes. We invest in teams; the pitch deck shows how the leadership of Respond: Crisis Translation is laying the groundwork for success.
